TWO TERRORISTS KILLED NEAR BAGHDAD
BAGHDAD, IRAQ – Coalition Forces killed two terrorists in an air strike Saturday afternoon near Baghdad.
Intelligence reports indicated the terrorists were associated with improvised explosive device attacks and suicide bombing operations.
Coalition aircraft engaged and destroyed the vehicle with precision fires, killing the driver and occupant.
EIGHT TERRORISTS KILLED, WEAPONS CACHES DESTROYED
Ramadi, Iraq – A Saturday morning raid targeting a terrorist in the Ramadi area led to eight terrorists killed and two suspects detained.
As Coalition Forces moved toward the target building, terrorists began firing rocket-propelled grenades at them; ground forces returned fire, killing three terrorists. Two suspected terrorists were detained, one of whom had been shot during the raid.
Ground forces provided him with on-scene medical care before detaining him.Ground forces also received mortar fire from armed terrorists during the raid. Coalition air support used precision fires to destroy the terrorists’ vehicle, killing five terrorists.
After inspecting the targeted building and property, Coalition Forces found multiple weapons caches, explosives, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms. All items were destroyed on site to prevent further use by terrorists.
This raid allowed Coalition Forces to continue the destruction of critical weapons caches and the disruption of the terrorist network in the Ramadi area.
