A young lady with direction

Some kids finish High School, if they finish at all, with no idea what to do next in their life. They have set no goals, aimed no farther than hanging out at McDonald's or securing a spot in front of the TV. Eventually they may get a job and a purpose to look forward to. Hopefully they will succeed in life or at least learn to support themselves without outside help. Thankfully, there are many exceptions to this rule.

One young adult, Raeven Harris, of Zephyrhills, Florida is shown above receiving an award from her Sergeant Major at this years JROTC Awards Program at the Zephyrhills High School. She is graduating a full year ahead of her class while maintaining a 4.10 grade average. In addition to her participation in numerous school activities she found time to squeeze in some College courses at PHCC and work at the local Golden Corral Resturant after school and on weekends.

Sounds busy. She hasn't slowed down yet. Raeven has enrolled at the University of South Florida after receiving a full Scholarship to pursue a Degree in Law. Gee, with so many accomplishments and goals one wonders what could possibly come next. Join a Law Firm? Nah! Not Raeven. She has set goals to follow.

Her father SSG Donald Harris, a career US Army soldier, just returned from a tour in Iraq with the 3rd ACR. Raeven's plans include becoming a 3rd generation soldier, following the footsteps of her father and her Grandfather. She could have had her choice of major colleges and a properous law career in the civilian workforce, but that doesn't seem enough for this hard driving teen. She has chosen a field to be proud of. Without doubt, an Army of One.
